Emerging Learning Design (ELD) started in 2010 as a professional development day for post-secondary educators and has grown into a thriving and growing organization. Committed to the idea that pedagogy, research, and scholarship can be enhanced and transformed by technology, ELD is known for its annual conference, Emerging Learning Design Journal, and a robust digital community.

Our audience includes faculty, researchers, librarians, and instructional designers in higher education. We also find many commonalities with other educational non-profits, such as museums and libraries, as well as educationally orientated professional organizations such as the New Media Consortium, EDUCAUSE, and OLC.
