Emerging Learning Design Conference Wireless Access Information
A Network Registration Guest Account has been created for all attendees access the Montclair State University network:
Guest Username: net_eld16
Guest Password: to be provided with your badge at checkin
This access is only granted for the duration of the conference and will work throughout the MSU Network
Once on campus at MSU, launch your preferred web browser and you will be redirected to the MSU NetAccess registration page. Select the ‘STUDENTS, FACULTY OR STAFF’ link to register and then enter the Guest Username and the Guest Password provided.
A temporary application that checks your computer for compliance with current MSU policies will then download and execute in order to register your device on the network. Once the process is finished, the application is uninstalled automatically. This is only for laptops and other devices NOT running iOS or Android. For mobile devices running iOS and Android, you will still need to go through the steps listed above, but the applications is not downloaded or executed.
IMPORTANT LAPTOP USERS If your device is provided for you by your institution, you should check with them to see if you have an account with administrative access. If you do NOT, please ask them for your “MAC Address” and provide that to me by email (email@example.com) as soon as possible.
In order to be allowed on to the MSU network, the MSU Networking Group needs that information. The application mentioned above collects it, but if you don’t have admin rights on your computer, you won’t be able to run the application. This does not mean you won’t be able to get on the network, just that we will have to have the MSU Networking people add your MAC address manually.
It is critical that you provide this information as far in advance as possible.
MAC addresses provided the day of the conference will be potentially significantly delayed getting access to the network
A typical MAC address will look something like 00:0a:95:9d:68:16 or 00:A0:C9:14:C8:29
Should you have any questions or problems once on campus, please stop by the Information And Game Stop Desk located in the ADP Center (where the concurrent session rooms are located). Prior to that, please write to firstname.lastname@example.orgTweet ##OLCwELD
