Although this may seem like an unusual question to ask, we have two reasons for asking. The first is a simple security measure. Instead of asking you for yet another password, we collect your birthday month and day and append it to your membership record. Should we need you to verify your identity, this information could be used. The second reason is more about community, we need to know when to wish you a Happy Birthday (just don’t expect a present!) . We do not ask the year, because we’re all 29 years old anyway.
