Maaike Bouwmeester is a Clinical Assistant Professor in NYU’s Digital Media Design for Learning (DMDL) Masters program. Maaike has spent the better part of two decades working at the intersection of educational software development, research and the learning sciences. Her work focuses on educational platforms that support competency and outcomes based learning environments, the design and development of tools that support active and experiential learning, collaboration, e-portfolios, performance assessment, and educational quality. Her most recent research interests include examining various programs and pedagogies that foster innovation and entrepreneurial mindsets within educational technology learning environments, with a focus on sustainability and social impact.
