Developing the Ultimate Course Search Tool to Increase Retention & Learning

Dr. Edina Renfro-Michel is an Associate Professor of Counseling at Montclair State University as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) in the State of New Jersey. Dr. Renfro-Michel focuses her research on attachment theory, counselor supervision, the relationship between attachment and supervision working alliance, pedagogically driven technology use in counselor education and higher education courses, and reactive attachment disorder. Her other research projects involve studying the effectiveness of hybrid courses in counselor education, and the relationship between attachment, learning style, and technology competence in relation to successful completion of hybrid courses. Dr. Renfro-Michel is a member of the iSECURE team, an NSF funded grant titled, “Integrating Learning Resources for Information Security Research and Education”, which is developing an online learning tool that integrates learning preferences, electronic course materials, and ontologies into learning environments. She is also the Editor of the Journal for Counselor Preparation and Supervision.
